Getting ready, because we are running a race

After a great week of seminar and youth camp with our brother Jocelyn Sery, we’ve had the privilege of having 2 nights of seminar with brother Stephen Gachengo and his wife Beatrice from Kenya.

Brother Stephen shared on “Getting ready, because we are running a race”!

He shared, from 1Corinthians 9:24, that we need to run the race in order to obtain the price and to remove anything that can be an obstacle for us to finish it. He stressed on the seriousness of running to win and to be awaken in the spirit for us not to slumber, but to press on towards the goal Philippians 3:12-14

He encouraged us to have an attitude of never giving up, but to allow the Word of God to work in our lives in order to finish the race.

He reminded us, using the story of the young rich man who knew the Lord’s commandments and the Word of God but who was not ready to pay the price to follow Christ, that for us to run this race we will need to deny ourselves.

In Philippians 1:29-30“ For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.”

Stephen talked about the need of the revelation of Christ through the preaching of His Gospel to serve Him with no compromise for us to be able end the race. Luke 18:29

We all stood up and sang “Oh when the saints go marching in”, for we all “want to be in the number when the Saints go marching in” !

What a blessing to have had these two brothers to encourage us and stir up our hearts to continue to serve Jesus!
