When we are born again, it is a very exciting experience where everything is new and so special! God, by His Spirit, gives us the hope of eternal life, places new desires in our hearts for pure things, and no longer the desire for the things of this world. We are filled with His love, and a new love for those around us, especially the family of God!
As special and joyous as our salvation can be, it is important to realise that when God chooses a man or a woman, he is wanting to form and make of them according to His own plans and purpose.
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience”
As we see in this scripture, our joy is not only to be found in the good times, but also when we are going through trials and tough times! There are many things within us that God is wanting to expose, in order for us to repent, that He may bring freedom. We see how much we need the Lord, and we bear fruits through this ‘pruning’ process.
The thing that we need to be careful of is when God is exposing something in our lives, that we don’t get discouraged and allow the enemy to lie to us, but rather cry out to Jesus and cling to Him.
When we understand that this forms an essential part of the gospel, faith will grow in our hearts to trust in Him in all we might go through!
